Hi! My name is Megan Smith and I’m a certified Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) instructor in Phoenix. I’m happily married to my husband, Bruce. We have three beautiful children, Charlotte, Jude, and Nora, and a dog named Brady. I’ve lived in Arizona for most of my life, growing up in Peoria and currently residing in North Phoenix. I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a B.S. in Business Administration and worked in pediatrics for years before staying home with our small children.
Living in the valley where there seems to be a pool in every backyard and news stories about drownings are heard far too often, my husband and I knew we wanted to better equip our kids for water safety. We enrolled our oldest daughter in traditional swimming lessons as an infant and after a few years we weren’t satisfied with her progress. A friend told me about the ISR Self-Rescue™ program and we immediately enrolled our son. He learned to swim-float-swim when he was just 14 months old. Our youngest daughter started lessons and could rollback to float by the time she was 9 months old. I was completely amazed seeing our kids go through the ISR program, and I knew I found my calling in teaching ISR Self-Rescue™.
Being a mom is my greatest blessing, and my mama heart gets so much joy seeing other people's babies and kids quickly and safely get on their back in the water to breathe and/or safely swim to the edge. I couldn't be happier to serve my community and contribute to ISR’s mission of “Not One More Child Drowns”.
